What a Stage 2 remap involves.
Stage 2 is for drivers who want more than software alone can give them. It pairs our Stage 1 ECU tune with supporting hardware upgrades — most commonly a freer-flowing air filter and an upgraded exhaust system. These changes let the engine breathe more easily on both the intake and exhaust side, removing some of the restriction built into the standard setup.
With that extra airflow available, we write a map specifically suited to the new hardware, rather than just reusing a generic Stage 2 file. That's what unlocks the further gains a standard car can't reach on tuning software alone.
What's typically involved.
- Supporting hardware first — an upgraded air filter and exhaust are fitted (or already in place) before we write the map.
- Bespoke Stage 2 file — written around your specific hardware combination, not a generic off-the-shelf map.
- Testing before collection — every map is checked and verified before your car leaves us.
- Original file retained — your factory ECU software stays on record so the tune can be reversed if needed.
Is Stage 2 right for your car?
If you're already running, or planning to fit, an upgraded air filter and exhaust, Stage 2 is the natural next step from a Stage 1 tune. If your car is still completely standard, it's worth starting with Stage 1 first and deciding from there whether you want to invest in supporting hardware.
